Before joining Ardian in 2006, Mark Benedetti worked at KPMG Corporate Finance where he focused on mergers, acquisitions and capital raising in the firm’s Advisor group. Prior to that, he was part of KPMG’s Assurance group.

    During a recent Bloomberg interview at IPEM 2024 in Paris, Ardian Executive President Mark Benedetti shared his insights on the European investment landscape, the impact of regulatory and macroeconomic changes on private markets, along with the future outlook for the sector as public markets regain strength amid easing fiscal policies.

    Mark also shed light on the current state of private markets. He emphasized the lower volatility rates within private markets compared to public markets, almost a third, allowing private markets to provide strong returns over long durations, making the sector an attractive field for long-term investors.

    This is reflected in outperformance rates of past years, as well as the growth projections of private markets, expected to achieve $20-25 trillion of AUM by 2030, compared to the current ~$13 trillion. Mark also touched on infrastructure, highlighting the crucial role private capital plays in the sector’s growth. As Europe’s largest infrastructure investor, Ardian is consistently contributing to bridging this gap.
