Executive Vice-President, François Jerphagnon has been a member of the Executive Committee since 2023 and Chairman of the Executive Board of Ardian France since October 2026.
Under his leadership, he created and successfully developed the Expansion activity, acknowledged as a European leader in investment in mid-sized companies. With his recognized investment expertise, his ability to bring talent together, and the trust placed in him for more than 20 years by the clients he supports, François Jerphagnon actively contribute to furthering Ardian’s development and ambitions.
Before joining Ardian in 2001, François Jerphagnon began his career at Caisse des Dépôts et Consignations in 1994. He subsequently joined an insurance company, where he was responsible for asset allocation and diversified portfolio management.
François Jerphagnon is also Chairman of the Ardian Foundation, established in 2010 to support education and social mobility. He focuses specifically on developing the Foundation’s scientific research division.
In addition to his professional activities, François Jerphagnon is involved in philanthropic work in several fields, notably theater (Board member of the Comédie Francaise Foundation) and music. He is also a patron of scientific research programs and, 20 years ago, co-founded the Jean Jerphagnon Prize, which annually recognizes young researchers for the excellence of their scientific work and whose applications have a strong entrepreneurial dimension. This prize is awarded by a jury chaired by Alain Aspect (2022 Nobel Prize in Physics).
He is an actuary, graduate of Paris Dauphine University and of the École nationale de la statistique et de l’administration économique (ENSAE).
