Ardian, a global private investment firm with $200bn in assets under management & supervision across its private equity, real assets, and private credit platforms, today announces the launch of Ardian Access Infrastructure ELTIF (“AAI ELTIF” or “the Fund”).
The Fund has been designed to broaden access to private infrastructure for eligible investors in Europe, offering them exposure to Ardian’s infrastructure investment capabilities through a single investment solution. The perpetual Fund, known as “evergreen”* will enable private investors to access Ardian's global infrastructure deal flow in a dedicated format, investing in infrastructure both directly through its Direct and Co-Investment activities and indirectly through investments in underlying funds through its Secondaries activities, which make up $61 billion in AUM.
AAI ELTIF is a new compartment of the Ardian Access Series UCI Part II umbrella fund alongside the existing compartment Ardian Access Infrastructure. It is the latest addition to the Ardian Access platform, which offers investment solutions in an evergreen format, allowing investors to access private markets and diversify their existing exposure with a dedicated investor experience. ELTIFs are illiquid and involve the risk of partial or total loss of capital.
This launch comes at a time of significant infrastructure investment demand , driven by underlying trends such as energy security, energy transition, and digitalization. The asset class also offers private investors attractive portfolio characteristics, notably long-term, resilient performance across cycles, recurring cash flows and inflation-linked income.
Through Ardian Access Infrastructure ELTIF, investors gain exposure to:
- Ardian’s pioneering infrastructure strategy managing $45bn in assets and focused on three core sectors: energy, digital infrastructure and transport.
- A team of c.80 dedicated investment professionals located across eight offices in Europe and the Americas.
- The same institutional-quality deal flow and underwriting capabilities as Ardian’s flagship infrastructure funds.
- Strong diversified portfolio of private infrastructure investments, with a particular focus on stable, developed European markets.
- Direct investments focus complemented by co-investments and secondaries, providing additional sources of attractive investment opportunities and diversification.
- Accessible investment minimums of €10,000, with the ability to invest on a monthly basis and immediate capital deployment.
- The fund will also make minority investments alongside our secondary and co-investment activities.
Ardian is launching AAI ELTIF in partnership with iCapital, a global fintech platform. Ardian will leverage iCapital’s full suite of services and technology solutions for evergreen funds to provide wealth managers and their clients with efficient access to alternative investment opportunities.
“We continue to see demand from private wealth investors in building more diversified portfolios in private markets. Infrastructure can play an important role within that allocation, offering investors access to essential assets alongside attractive diversification characteristics. With the Ardian Access Infrastructure ELTIF, we are making our infrastructure strategy with a 20-year track record available to a wider investor base, supported by the same investment teams, discipline and pipeline of opportunities as our institutional strategies.” Jan Philipp Schmitz, Executive President, Ardian
“We believe this is a particularly compelling time to invest in infrastructure. Significant investment is required across Europe to support the energy transition, strengthen energy security and deliver the next phase of digitalization, with private capital playing a key role in supporting that transformation. Our strategy is focused on essential infrastructure that underpins day-to-day economic activity, where demand can prove resilient to economic cycles and revenues are often regulated or contractually fixed and provide recurring cash yield while being inflation-linked. Combined, these long-term structural investment needs and the fundamental characteristics of infrastructure make the asset class particularly attractive today.” Daniel Von Der Schulenburg, Chief Operating Officer Infrastructure and Head of Infrastructure Germany, Benelux and Northern Europe, Ardian
