Executive President of Ardian and Vice-Chairman of the Executive Committee, Jan Philipp Schmitz is also Chairman of the Sales Committee.

In his dual role leading global commercial and investor relations activities, he combines strategic investment management with a tailored, global approach to serving investors worldwide.

He oversees several of Ardian’s European offices and international subsidiaries, notably in Asia and the Middle East, where he also supports the Group’s commercial development. In addition, he leads Customized Solutions and Private Wealth Solutions activities, in recognition of his contribution to tailoring Ardian’s processes and services to a broader variety of clients, notably private investors.

Jan Philipp Schmitz joined Ardian in 2005 within the Secondaries & Primaries team in Frankfurt. Previously he worked at Ernst & Young and Arthur Andersen, working for Private Equity clients in transaction advisory services.

Jan Philipp Schmitz is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Staatsoper Unter den Linden in Berlin. He also supports the Städel Committee in Frankfurt, which contributes to the development of one of Germany’s most important art collections accessible to the public. In addition, he serves as Treasurer of the Union International Club in Frankfurt, whose mission is to promote international understanding and cooperation.
