ARDIAN US LLC seeks a Director, Fund of Funds for its San Francisco, CA location.

Duties: Organize and manage teams of 2-6 investment professionals in the due diligence and execution of the company’s full range of primary and secondary funds of funds investments, across buyout, growth, infrastructure, and energy funds and assets. Manage and review the work of junior investment professionals (Analysts, Investment Managers and Senior Investment Managers) throughout the entire investment process and oversee the drafting of investment recommendations. Review the valuations and pricing of equity interests in private equity, infrastructure and energy funds and companies, financial projections and transaction modeling prepared by junior analysts to assess and forecast investment performance. Direct the evaluation of North American fund managers and the monitoring of current market conditions, which includes establishing and designing research methodology. Actively participate in ARDIAN’s global team and Investment Committee meetings and act as a senior advocate for individual transactions as well as for ARDIAN’s business a whole. Originate primary and secondary funds of funds investment opportunities through building and maintaining network of funds managers, secondary market intermediaries, and other external partners. Lead the negotiation and execution of related legal documentation and manage relationships with external sellers, fund managers, advisors, and other limited partners. Lead during the closing process, including the preparation and confirmation of schedules and interact effectively with finance and legal team members. Lead the syndication process to investor clients on a deal-by-deal basis. Direct due diligence efforts with regard to the ongoing monitoring of the underlying portfolio investments and developments against targeted performance goals. Oversee the drafting and presentation of customized investment reports for ARDIAN’s clients and Advisory Board. Oversee the recruiting, training and mentoring of junior team members and make recommendations related to compensation and career evolution. Contribute to fundraising and maintaining prospect and current client relationships. Represent the firm in the global investment community including at annual meetings, conferences, GP board meetings, and other events. Requires a Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Business, Finance, Management or related field and at least 5years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in primary and secondary funds-of-funds private equity investing. Full term must include top quartile private equity firm experience, including due diligence, execution, syndication and monitoring of secondary transactions of $500m or greater and primary investments; financial modeling and analysis and corporate valuation for  primary, secondary and co-investment opportunities; and live deal experience with infrastructure and energy secondary opportunities.
